Founded in 2023, the Sacred Heart Chamber Music Summit (SHCMS) is a free summer intensive offered for middle- to high-school brass and woodwind players in northern Ohio. Teachers will be college students and/or alumni from Oberlin Conservatory who strive to provide accessible music education for all levels in the region.
All coachings and performances are at the idyllic campus of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin, Ohio. The camp includes a rigorous 5-day rehearsal period of practicing, group music exercises, and lectures led by the faculty. On the final day, the students will perform in a showcase recital held in the church sanctuary, followed by reception.
