VIDEO AUDITION
Applicants must submit a one-take video audition of two (2) items, in either order:
  • A solo piece OR etude from your respective OMEA Class (click bullets below for repertoire lists)
    • Suggested OMEA brass pieces, categorized by instrument

    • Suggested OMEA etudes
  • A chromatic scale, from your lowest comfortable note to your highest.
    • Choose a tempo that you can play with a steady, consistent rhythm

Applicants will submit their video audition on the application form.  We ask that you please upload a link to your video, whether it be from a sharable Google Drive, YouTube, Vimeo, or Dropbox link - just as a few examples.

TEACHER RECOMMENDATION (optional)
While optional, a recommendation helps elevate a student's application and gives the faculty a better sense of the applicant's musical experience and personality.   Please submit the recommendation as a PDF file to Ben at [email protected].

SECURITY DEPOSIT

Though we are proud to offer this summit for free, we ask applicants to confirm their acceptance with a $100 security deposit.  Upon completion of the summit, students will have their deposit refunded.  However, if a student fails to attend ALL days of the summit without prior legitimate reason, SHCMS will keep the deposit.  This monetary rule is in place not only to ensure students' attendances, but also ensures the utmost learning environment for both the teachers and students.  We appreciate in advance your understanding of this matter.
